Bones is currently in its 10th season, but if Emily Deschanel has anything to say about it, there will definitely be a season 11. Emily plays Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan on the hit series and she is already ready for another season.
"I'm up for it, yeah," Emily told TV Line. "I feel like there's still more to tell." Although nothing is certain, the 38-year-old actress revealed that she would love to be a part of the show for another year.
"The network has to pick it up, for one," she explained to the publication. "And people have [expiring] contracts. But under certain circumstances, I would definitely consider [returning]." According to TV Line based on its ratings, Bones coming back for another season is "a sure thing," which is great news for the fans.
Showrunner Stephen Nathan agreed with Emily's comments about there being more to tell when it comes to the show's storyline. He definitely thinks that they have not outstayed their welcome just yet. "We don't feel that the show lacks life or the characters lack places to go," Stephen told the publication adding that the network bosses "all seem to be telling us to keep going."
Before getting too excited about an 11th season let's focus on the fall midseason finale, which will air on December 11 on, Fox. In addition to the December episode being season 10's fall midseason finale, it also marks the 200th episode of the hit crime series.
With a blast from the past, set in the '50s and a creepy Alfred Hitchcock tribute, there is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming hour episode. Special Agent Seeley Booth (played by David Boreanaz) will be a jewel thief and Brennan will be an LAPD officer in the iconic episode.
"We're examining the beginnings of Booth and Brennan in another situation," the executive producer told TV Line last month. "Their jobs might be different, but their characters are the same to a large extent."
