We sure hope The Young and the Restless star, Corey Sligh, is recovering and feeling better after learning that the two men accused of attacking him will now be charged with a number of crimes.
According to TMZ, Sligh's two attackers will be charged with multiple crimes, including assault with a deadly weapon and DUI.
The Thanksgiving day attack has resulted in the actor to be hospitalized for a number of days. Sligh was attacked by Dusan Lilic, 25 and Nikola Ilic, 23, while walking in a Rite Aid parking lot last Thursday, where the two drunk men hit Sligh with their car.
According to NBC News, Sligh was with his girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, and another person when he was hit by the car. The three were on their way to deliver Thanksgiving dinner to another friend who was working a late shift at the store when they saw Dusan and Nikola driving behind the wheel of a car, uncontrollably in the parking lot.
After telling the men to stop horsing around in the parking lot, Sligh was hit by Lilic with the car door and then ran over. "The vehicle drove away, but Lilic and Ilic returned and began beating Sligh, who suffered a broken arm and other injuries," prosecutors revealed.
"They almost hit people in the parking lot," Sligh's girlfriend, Berhorst, revealed to KCAL9 reporter Laurie Perez. "They were hitting curbs and Corey said please slow down or we're going to call the cops."
"The guy walked up to him like I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away," Berhorst also said.
If the men are convicted on all charges, Lilic could face a maximum of 7 years behind bars, and llic could get 4 years.
The good news out of all this was when we learned Sligh had been released from the hospital.
According to E! Online, Sligh is trying to focus on getting back to "normal" and doesn't have a bad bone in his body towards his attackers.
"People can be cruel, but I'm not going to worry about it," The Young and the Restless star shared with The Wrap. "I'm just trying to get back to normal. Just trying to get back to acting."
Sligh adds, that he has no "hatred" against the men responsible for putting him in the hospital. "I have no hatred for these guys, I'm happy to have the problem of relearning to walk instead of not being able to walk at all. I'm pretty blessed."
