NBC's Peter Pan Live! aired last night with Girls star Allison Williams filling the title character role and the iconic Christopher Walken playing Captain James Hook. And while much of it has been under fire from fans via Twitter, there appears to be one person who liked it –– John Mayer! So much so, in fact, that the ex of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry opted to throw a photo on Instagram to show his support for the "happy" and "pure" performances.
"Congrats @aw. We all needed something pure and happy and great. Thank you. #peterpanlive," Mayer captioned alongside a photo of him in the recording studio watching the NBC special.
Check out the photograph the Paradise Valley musician tossed online below:

While this guy seemed to love the special, it looks like quite a few people online just... well, didn't. And given this is the age of social media, they proceeded to express either their disinterest in watching or their anger while "hate-watching" the program via Twitter. Take a look at some of the tweets below:
Even with nbc's budget they can't buy the charm missing from this Peter Pan #PeterPanLive — Amee gib (@AmeeGib) December 5, 2014

I can't tell if I am watching Peter Pan Live or an SNL sketch featuring Christopher Walken. #PeterPanLive — Christine Pineiro (@ChristineP_) December 5, 2014
Among them all, comedian Fortune Feimster might have had the best tweet of all...

Well, readers, we know what John Mayer thought and we know what Twitter thought. What did YOU think?
