As The Colbert Report is winding down its days on Comedy Central, Stephen Colbert is inviting in a slew of surprising and powerful guests in before he has a little hiatus. Last night's episode was held in Washington D.C., and of course, he had to have the United States Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, in the guest chair. And actually, he also had him in his own seat for a little while. Yes, the President stepped onto the Colbert Report stage not just for an interview with the soon-to-be Late Show host – as Colbert was announced David Letterman's replacement – but also to take over the host's "THE WORD" segment. Only for this instance, it was called "THE DECREE."

In the beginning of the episode, Colbert began introducing his segment, boasting that while he could easily become a politician in no time, there's no way in hell a politician could do his job, which is why the American public should listen to him and not Washington. Of course, that brought about the night's "WORD" –– which is exactly when Obama stepped on the stage.

Afterwards, the President was kind enough to sit down with the Comedy Central host for a two-part interview, suavely diverting Colbert's (false) jabs and even delivering some himself. Like when he told the host, "For the first time you're asking a sensible question," when he asked him a question about the amount of power he holds in his position.

The final episode of The Colbert Report airs this coming Thursday, Dec 18 at 11:30 on Comedy Central following The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He'll give up his seat and take over for David Letterman sometime in 2015.
