Is San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh done with the NFL team and going to Michigan? As QB Colin Kaepernick and the rest of the Bay Area team struggle, the 49ers coach has reportedly been offered a huge six year, $49 million contract to coach college team Michigan, and Harbaugh is reportedly considering it. Harbaugh could also still be traded to an NFL team, with the leading candidates being the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears, while the 49ers will also have to decide to keep or trade Kaepernick this offseason.
NFL.com Insider Ian Rapoport reported the news, tweeting out:
Sources: #Michigan has made another run at Jim Harbaugh after he initially rebuffed the school. U-M has made an offer of 6 years, $48M. Wow.

ESPN report that "in recent days at least one person familiar" with his thinking said he was at least "considering it." It would, ESPN's Adam Schefter explained, mean a salary around $8.17 million a year, in turn making Harbaugh "the highest-paid college football coach, surpassing Alabama's Nick Saban by more than $1.21 million".
Former NBA player, Michigan alum and current ESPN and NBA TV analyst Jalen Rose pointed out that 'considering' such an offer simply makes sense, tweeting:
Duh...Who doesn't "consider" being paid $49m? #Harbaugh #Hail.

Grantland's Andrew Sharp laid out the case for Harbaugh going to Michigan, saying the college team "might be willing to bankrupt the university to get him there, and he would enjoy the benefit of the doubt for at least three years if he went to Ann Arbor." Something, he says, Harbaugh wouldn't get by going to another team.

NFL.com's Adam Schien, however, believes Harbaugh should stay in the NFL and head to the Oakland Raiders, saying that the coach "should reject the school's offer and instead coach an NFL team that hasn't been to the playoffs in over a decade." He adds that for former Raiders assistant Harbaughguiding Oakland back to championship contention would be "the ultimate challenge for the ultimate competitor -- and it would satisfy his ego, family life and bank account."
ESPN's Skip Bayless would like to see Harbaugh coaching the Chicago Bears with Jay Cutler at quarterback.
Would like to see Cutler coached by Shanahan (who drafted him) or Harbaugh in Chicago or OBrien in Houston. Needs more tough love. — Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) December 18, 2014
What do you think? Where should Harbaugh head? Could he turn the Jets or Raiders around? Be the cure all for the Bears? Should he take the money and head back to Michigan?
