If there's one guy who isn't too upset over Sony pulling Seth Rogen and James Franco's film The Interview its comedian Chris Rock. Reason being? His new movie Top Five now has a chance to cash in some serious bank! Rock stopped by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to promote the film. During his interview, the two joked about the whole North Korea-Sony Pictures email hacking situation. You know, the whole reason The Interview was pulled from theaters. On the subject, the comedian assures his fans that the film is "Korean friendly."
Rock sat down next to his "big time director" friend – Stewart recently directed and released his film Rosewater – and took in several compliments from his fellow stand up, who said the film is "f*cking great and so much fun to watch."
Of course, Stewart also admitted that he fell in love with Rock all over again.
After Rock joked about Stewart becoming "the play guy" – which spawned from several ever so kind comments the Daily Show host had to say about South Park creators' Matt Stone and Trey Parker's Book of Mormon – the two discussed what The Interview pull meant to Rock. "It's Christmas time," Stewart said, "...and I know there's a real hole in the theater schedule now that they've taken away..." To that, Stewart asked if he felt there was now "more cheese" for Rock.
Which the Top Five star-writer-director said, "I'll say this ... my movie is very Korean friendly. We almost don't kill any Koreans!"
