One Direction Play 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town' On Classroom Instruments With 'Tonight Show' Host Jimmy Fallon & The Roots [WATCH]

One Direction in Christmas sweaters and singing "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots on classroom instruments? It's a Christmas miracle (and a nice NBC tie-in). Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik joined The Tonight Show host and house band to wail on some triangles and bring some holiday cheer into the world following their weekend appearance on Saturday Night Live to play "Night Changes" and "Ready To Run". Promoting their new album Four, the five are dominating the holidays in America, with their NYE spot opposite Harry Styles's ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift for the Times Square ball drop coming up next week.

 To cap off their full-blown NBC holiday blitz, One Direction will also appear on NBC's Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve With Ryan Seacrest, which will also feature "Shake It Off"   singer Swift, as well as Iggy Azalea, Fergie, Nick Jonas, Frozen's "Let It Go" singer Idina Menzel, Charli XCX, Meghan Trainor, Gavin DeGraw, Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line and a special appearance from Elton John.

But in the spirit of Christmas the British pop superstars had an excellent time playing "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" with Fallon and The Roots, with Zayn in particular having a helluva time mastering a triangle and Liam rocking a pair of coconuts. It certainly looks like a lot of fun:

And in news that will surprise no one, One Direction fans went gaga for the fivesome warbling in some very comfortable, if dubious-looking, Christmas sweaters. Taking to Twitter with the hashtag #Fallon1D, fans sounded off all night:

Following their SNL performances of "Night Changes" and "Ready To Run" - as well as appearing in the 'Girlfriends Talk Show' skit as high school dancers - One Direction are certainly seemingly hell bent on delivering as much holiday cheer as America can bear.
