We recently found out that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received a release date delay, pushing it back to May 19, 2015. This news comes after basically an entire year of video games getting release delays, with the same reasoning - which gamers have accepted and appreciate. This week, Witcher developers CD Projekt RED answered questions about why Wild Hunt was pushed back; explaining that it was to polish the gameplay and make sure that no bugs existed upon release. We're pretty happy with this news, aren't you?

The company's co-founder and CEO, Marcin Iwinski, responded to an email from Nerdacy in regards to the delay. His response will surely put gamers at ease.
"We are removing the final bugs and still running optimization in various areas. What it will result in is a smoother and more engaging experience and, yes, the game looking better across all platforms," Iwinski explained. "The content is locked, so no content changes are being made at this point. The scale of the open world in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is unprecedented, so fear not - there is enough gameplay to keep you playing for weeks."
Gamma Squad points out a great reason why this explanation should be appreciated: other games released this year were full of bugs! Would we really want to jeopardize our gameplay experience with The Witcher 3 just for an earlier release date? We don't think so!
Iwinski also talked about the newly revealed playable character, Ciri.
"Geralt is the main character whom you will be playing most of the time and he is the guy," the CEO said. "We think that the introduction of Ciri as a playable character is a great way to allow gamers to see parts of the story from her perspective and make it even more personal."
