Madonna and Elton John Feud: Pop Icons Finally Hug and Make Up

Even after Sir Elton John harshly referred to pop star Madonna as a "fairground stripper," it looks like the "Material Girl" songstress has ultimately decided to forgive and forget. According to The Sun, the two singers were spotted at a restaurant in Nice, France last week, apparently sparking up a friendly conversation and even ending the brief interaction with a warm embrace.

The two stars have been involved in a celebrity feud for years - John recently bashed Madonna for hating on pal Lady Gaga and referred to the "Like a Virgin" star's career as dead and gone. But when the two ended up bumping into one another at the posh French restaurant La Petite Maison in Nice last week, it looks like all hard feelings were finally pushed aside. One restaurant-insider claims:

"Just as Elton was leaving, he went over to talk to Madonna and they were laughing and smiling. They even hugged each other."

While John is a La Petite Maison regular, Madonna was just stopping in for a quick bite to eat before a performance which wasn't scheduled to start until about 10:30 p.m.

Later on in the night, Madonna seemed to confirm the successful interaction when she dedicated the song "Masterpiece" to her fellow pop icon. The 52-year-old singer stated, "I know he's a big fan of it, and I know he's a big fan of mine. And you know what, I forgive him. You gotta start somewhere."
