It has been a tough season for the Carolina Panthers, but teams in the worst division of the NFL must declare a winner. On Sunday, Dec. 28, the NFC South will declare a winner between the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons.
The Panthers have had a weird season as Cam Newton missed the first game due to injures and was involved in a car wreck a couple weeks ago that resulted in Newton being hospitalized for observation and missing another game.
Fans will probably be using Newton's words — "I'm on somebody's fantasy league, and I think it's the man upstairs" — during Sunday's game as they have faith in their team to pull in a victory.
Cam: I'm on somebody's fantasy league, and I think it's the man upstairs.

Despite not having their star quarterback, the Panthers have managed to win games without Newton. But let's not get too happy for the Carolina team: They lost six games in a row, managing to make up their sorry moves with winning three games that helped add them back to the game that will determine their fate Sunday.
Carolina has to be prepared Sunday as they take on the Falcons inside the Georgia Dome if they want a shot at the playoffs.
The Falcons have not had a pretty season, either. They had a few hiccups along the way as well this year. The team that the "A" loves lost every game in October, but gained victory against the rest of the NFC South, becoming undefeated in the end.
It will be a tight race to the playoffs as the Panthers go in to Sunday's game with the record of 6-8-1. The Falcons are 6-9.
