Nicolas Cage turned 51 years old yesterday, and tributes flowed for one of the world's most impressively thrilling and eternally confusing actors. The star of movies such as Raising Arizona, Con Air, Gone In 60 Seconds, National Treasure, Ghost Rider and Kick Ass, Cage offers up plenty of opportunities for praise... just as his incredibly inconsistent IMDB offers up chances for ridicule. In honor of that, 5 year old Luke took to Jimmy Kimmel Live and delivered probably the best tribute video you'll see for the Oscar winner.
Wandering out onto the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage in a Nicolas Cage cutout, Luke announced "I'm Nicolas Cage, and today is my 51st birthday... I am awesome."
Luke goes on to say (in a pretty spot-on impression) "I've been in over 70 movies, and i wanna be in 70 more, because i'm a great ac...tor. You might even say I'm a National Treasure."
He adds, "I own two islands, a dinosaur skull and a pyramid. Some people think I'm weird. Well, that's my story. I stope John Travolta's face!"

Meanwhile, E! Online delivered 19 terrifyingly brilliant gifs of Nicolas Cage that show his, er, range, Zimbio also offered ways to celebrate Nic Cage's birthday — which simply involves pictures of Nic Cage's face on things — and Uproxx looked at how deciding to become comedic leading man saved his career... while almost ruining it.
It's a good point. As Decider's Meghan O'Keefe explains, regardless of his movie role choices Nicolas Cage might be more fulfilled by his craft than anyone else today. Cage, says O'Keefe, "commits to the fullest extreme. He is the rare actor who will treat playing an aging magician in a silly Disney film with as much gravitas as a suicidal alcoholic in Leaving Las Vegas. He infuses all his roles with a hungry passion."
Which simply brings up the memory of the classic 'Cage on Cage' SNL Weekend Update skit. Revel in it below.
