2015 marks the 10th anniversary of the BBC's rebooted Doctor Who time-traveling adventure series- but what if this was the final year of the season? According to Russell T. Davies, former showrunner and the man responsible for the reboot, it's impossible for the show to be pulled off of the air. Davies says Whovians would pretty much riot if this hypothetical were to happen! So with ratings dropping after the season 8 episodes of last year, Davies says we shouldn't really worry about the series ending any time soon!

"It's now impossible for it to ever be axed," the former executive producer of the series told RadioTimes.com. "It's certainly heading that way. Could you imagine if it was axed now? There would be uproar in the streets. Twitter would be set on fire."
Davies was interviewed on the subject of the reboot's 10th anniversary, which takes place this year.
"Who would have thought? If you look at the last ten years: ten years of rock solid ratings! It's bizarre to an old-school Doctor Who fan like me; it's success continues to be extraordinary," he explained. "Also, there is a current generation who will keep it alive in a generation's time. As long as there's an audience, that audience will grow up loving it and want to make their own and it's self-perpetuating."
Meanwhile, Davies also confirmed that he has no plans of working on the series in the near future - not even on a ten-year anniversary special that could happen this year.
"Wouldn't that be nice? The lovely Steven [Moffat] invites me every year to come and write one," he said. "And I love him and I love them and I love watching it, but here I am, moving on. I love Doctor Who with all my heart but nothing is more important to me than my own stuff."
