The Whitney Houston biopic stole the spotlight last night on Lifetime, but it seems like more people might have tuned in to watch what they expected to be a train wreck. However, the flick helmed by director Angela Bassett seemed to be a fan favorite, as Kathy Griffin, Glee star Amber Riley and others took to their Twitter accounts to post about their liking of the movie.
Kathy Griffin, normally the outspoken critic, posted on her Twitter writing, "Opening line. Genius "Time to be #Whitney Houston" ISNT IT ALWAYS????"
Kathy wasn't the only star to post on the social media site about her liking of the film.
The following are some other celebrity tweets about the biopic that celebrated the late singer:

Star of the flick, Yaya DaCosta of America's Next Top Model fame, spoke out to E! News regarding the controversy over the movie.
"There was a pressure to keep it real and not be offensive," YaYa explained to the news site about how to honor Whitney's memory. "This is a real person who really lived that everybody knows and loves."
