Who you got winning the 2015 Super Bowl: Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, or Russell Wilson and the NFL's defending champion Seattle Seahawks? As Tom Brady and Bill Belichick's Patriots recover from DeflateGate and enter their sixth Super Bowl in the last 14 years -- having already won three -- while the Seahawks try to be the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2003-2004 Patriots, analysts and NFL experts weigh in with their Super Bowl 49 predictions. Will Tom Brady win his fourth NFL Super Bowl and third Super Bowl MVP in Arizona this Sunday Feb. 1? Or will Russell Wilson go back to back? Who's mad, bro?
As SB Nation's Katie Sharp reports, "There appears to be little consensus on who will win this game among our resident NFL experts. The OddsShark computer is taking New England, but the other guys on our panel are basically split even between the Seahawks and the Patriots."
Seattle are predicted to win by SB Nation writers Ryan Van Bibber, Stephen White, David Fucillo and Danny Kelly, while New England are favored by Joel Thorman, PFT Commenter, Matt Ufford and the OddsShark Computer.
11 of The Bleacher Report's NFL experts predict a Seattle Seahawks win, with the other five opting for the Patriots, with lead NFL writer Mike Tanier saying: "One thing to keep in mind while trying to predict the outcome of this game is that the scores of the two Giants-Patriots Super Bowls were 17-14 and 21-17. The Patriots had better offenses in those two games than they have this year, and while they were facing defense-oriented opponents, neither the 2007 nor 2011 Giants defense can come close to the 2014 Seahawks in terms of quality. It doesn't make much sense to predict a very high score."
The NFL experts at CBS Sports, however, swing more in the Patriots direction, with five of their eight writers opting for Tom Brady and co.... but their prediction machine still, er, predicts a Seattle win.
The Washington Post's sporting statistician Neil Greenberg crunches the numbers and predicts a 23-20 win for the New England Patriots, saying: "The key for New England will be to keep the pressure off Brady and for him to complete the short passes while getting the ball to their best playmaker, tight end Rob Gronkowski."
And, as Mstars News reported, EA Games also ran an entire game simulation to predict the winner the 2015 Super Bowl. You can watch it below:
As Sports Illustrated reported, it was good news for Patriots fans, as "In this year's simulation, the Seahawks led 24-14 in the third quarter following a Marshawn Lynch touchdown run, but the Patriots dug deep and came storming back to win 28-24."
"Computer Tom Brady threw for all four of the Patriots touchdowns in the simulation and was awarded his third Super Bowl MVP award."
Here's hoping for a similar result on Sunday.
