This year BMI honored gospel greats Israel Houghton, LaShun Pace and The Anointed Pace Sisters at the Trailblazers gala.
MStars News previously reported that the 16th annual event was held at the Rialto Center for the Arts.
BMI also recognized its Most Performed Gospel Song of the Year: "The Gift," written and performed by Donald Lawrence.
Gospel singers Kim Burrell and VaShawn Mitchell hosted the Atlanta ceremony along with Michael O'Neill, BMI president and CEO, and Catherine Brewton, BMI vice president, writer/public relations.
Burrell told the BMI red carpet host what the importance of BMI was to her.
"It's a family thing, the importance of it is, I am a 20-plus BMI writer, and producer, and then the importance of what this represents is, BMI reaches out to the necessary light to bring gospel music, and I think the best thing I do in gospel is support others," the singer said.
