Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore's are divorcing. The pair are reportedly splitting after six years of marriage, with the former "Candy" pop star and beloved indie/country musician reportedly going their separate ways respectfully and amicably. 40 year old Ryan Adams -- whose most recent self-titled album was a melancholy affair -- and 30 year old Tangled star Moore had been dating since 2008, but now Moore has filed for divorce from the Heartbreaker rocker, citing "irreconcilable differences".

Radar Online -- who reported the news -- say that that Moore is divorcing Adams, while Pitchfork say that "According to Adams' representative, Moore and Adams filed for divorce simultaneously."
As E! Online report, the pair -- who married on March 10, 2009, in Savannah, Ga after announcing their engagement only four weeks earlier -- are splitting not long after Moore told them that "she was working on new music and that her alt-country-rocker hubby would be collaborating."
They report that Moore -- who had a recurring role in Fox's Red Band Society until it was cancelled at the end of last year -- told them in November that, "Life, life is inspiring what I'm writing about and I don't know exactly what it's going to sound like quiet yet, but...I'm going to work with my husband on it and make it at his studio so his influence will be all over it."

As Rolling Stone say, the pair collaborated with each other a number of times, saying "In 2012, Moore revealed that she had been working with Adams on her next studio album. Moore also contributed background vocals to Adams' 2011 album Ashes & Fire and Ryan Adams' "Trouble" and "Am I Safe."
Adams -- whose song "Gimme Something Good," off of his self-titled 14th studio album, recently earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song -- has been notoriously tight-lipped about his private life, with Buzzed reporting how he hung up on a rude Australian radio station who kept hassling him for details about the pair's love life.
Peace to Ryan Adams but selfishly I'm looking forward to the Mandy Moore divorce record.

As Buzzfeed's Bob Mehr wrote in his fantastic piece on the conflicted muso, "I just don't share at all about my private life," he [Adams] tells the DJs politely. The other end of the conversation continues, with Adams visibly tensing. After a long pause, and without a word, he hangs up on them.
"OK, so I just hung up 'cause I was on the radio getting asked about my wife," he complains. "I was really nice about it the first time, and I'm sorry, but I won't repeat myself. The deal is this: I'm a private person and I'll be a gentleman and say I'm not talking about my marriage ever. I'll never talk about it. Ever.
"I'll talk about rescue cats for a few seconds," Buzzfeed reported Adams as saying. "But even there I don't want to talk about my pets. If I have children I'm not going to discuss that with anyone ever. I'll suggest it once and then I'm going to hang up."
Finishes Mehr, "Everyone grows quiet as Adams throws himself down into a couch, splays his legs out, and sighs: 'I don't really have a history of uplifting myself in the public eye.'"
