John Mayer Instagram ‘Late Late Show’ Hosting Gig [PHOTO]: Katy Perry Boyfriend Preps For CBS Talk Show By Watching ‘Tonight Show’ Following Grammy Award Nominee Ed Sheeran Booking

Looks like John Mayer is gearing up for his upcoming hosting gig over at the Late Late Show. The beau to singer Katy Perry recently posted a photo to Instagram that shows just how he's prepping for the job this coming Feb. 4-6. And what better way to prepare than by watching old episodes of the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson? Match that with the recent booking of x singer and Grammy Award nominee Ed Sheeran and it sounds like the Late Late Show with John Mayer will be an absolute win.

Mayer recently posted the below photo to his Instagram page, which shows the Paradise Valley singer alongside writer-director Jordan Rubin. The photo is captioned with, "Thanks @paleycenter for access to the greatest DVR ever. With @jordanrubin rifling through thousands of late night talk shows looking for one good reason why I should be allowed within 50 feet of that desk. Guest hosting CBS Late Late Show next Wednesday to Friday. #JMLATELATESHOW #RESPECTTHEDESK."

So, anyone else excited for Mayer's upcoming gig?

Who knows––maybe it'll be a new career opportunity. Or, more likely, it'll be a fun three days and then he can get back to doing what he does best. No, not making us all guess whether or not he's dating Katy Perry or breaking up marriages.

Hopefully he'll get back to making some great music.
