Tom Brady has said that he'll be re-gifting the brand new Chevrolet truck the quarterback won with for being named Super Bowl XLIX MVP to teammate and Patriots intercepting hero, un-drafted rookie safety Malcolm Butler. Following the New England Patriots 28-24 win over Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks -- sealed by Butler's interception of a Wilson throw to Ricardo Lockette at the Seattle 1-yard line -- Brady has explained that Butler's great play didn't come as a surprise to anyone on the Patriots... And now it's scored Butler a sweet new ride.

As NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports, Brady told Boston radio station WEEI that while Butler and his game-winning interception was the biggest surprise for fans in the Super Bowl win, Brady and the Pats knew that Butler would deliver. As a result, Brady would now like to deliver the undrafted rookie the 2015 Chevrolet truck he scored when named Super Bowl XLIX MVP.

"I would love to give him the truck," said Brady. "I would love to do that. I'm going to figure out how to make that work."

Brady added that Butler's play was a great play at the greatest time of year. "A guy like Malcolm who makes that type of instinctive, quick play, that's one of his strong suits," Brady told the hosts of Boston radio station WEEI-FM's Dennis & Callahan show. "I don't think it surprised any of us players, because that's really what his skill set is. A lot of people didn't get to see that over the course of the season.

"It comes off as a great play, which it really was, obviously the biggest time of the year. Someone had to make a play. It happened to be Malcolm."

As ESPN report, that play - and how Butler saw it - was prepared for by the Patriots ahead of the Super Bowl. "At practice, the scout team ran that same play and I got beat on it," Butler told ESPN's Mike & Mike. "[Coach] Bill [Belichick] told me, 'You've got to be on that.' At that time [of the play], memorization came through," Butler added, making up a new word in the process.

"I just jumped the route. I just made a play. Just do your job -- do it the best way you can. I just did my job."

And now he's likely to score a brand new 2015 Chevrolet truck. As Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper points out, T"here are procedural steps associated with gifting a car to someone, although we'd imagine that Brady has a few lawyers and accountants he can ring up to make sure that things are handled."

NFL.com's Patra added that "Considering that the house the Brady family used to call home in L.A. had a moat around it, Tom can afford to give the rookie who helped cement his career at least one free truck."

Considering Butler just won a Super Bowl and got to hang out at Disney Land, this has been a pretty good couple of days for the undrafted rookie.
