Despite claims to the contrary it seems that everything on the set of The Today Show is hunky-dory. Tabloid rumors began making their way around the Internet last week that Kathie Lee Gifford was quitting the NBC daytime talk show, as she was disgruntled with the president of the network, Deborah Turness. Hoda Kotb's co-host was rumored to be upset with Turness after refusing to air Kathie's 18-minute musical before Peter Pan Live!
According to Radar Online, Kathie was so upset with the fact that the musical segment didn't air that everyone at the network thought she was done.
"Kathie had a huge fight with Deb and the talk in the hallways is that she's done," an insider told the site.
But the reports seemed to be just rumors, as Gifford's musical actually did make it to the air Dec. 29 and can be watched below.
So what does that mean for the rumors that Kathie is unhappy about her position and reportedly "moving to another network in an act of revenge?" Well, according to Page Six, Kathie is staying put on the show with her longtime friend Hoda.
"The story is total nonsense," a rep for Gifford told the new site of the quitting speculation. "The only rift at the fourth hour of Today is whether it's going to be red or white wine."
A rep also cleared up the rumors to Radar, saying, "The musical aired on the Today show in December to much fanfare and everyone at the show, including management, was thrilled with it. It was such a hit with staffers, the Today show even played it on a loop at the show's holiday party. Kathie Lee and the entire Today show anchor team has the support of NBC News executives."
