Lucas can't make it to Siobhan's funeral. Instead, he sits in his squad car and flashes back to first coming to Banshee, meeting Sugar and then meeting the real Sheriff Hood, only this time he imagines the Sheriff doesn't die and that he wasn't the violent man that we all know him to be. The flashback fantasy also shows him leaving Carrie and her family alone after seeing her happy with them. We know that if this was really how it all played out, a ton of people wouldn't be dead-namely Siobhan.
Brock, interrupting the peaceful daydream, tells Hood that Banshee needs a Sheriff and that they should hunt down Chayton, just like they did the neo-Nazis that killed Emmett. This lust for vengeance is sure to pop up in Hood, but for now he's mourning.
His father, with a simple head nod, invites Kai into his mother's funeral while Rebecca opts to walk out of the service (which is also attended by Sugar). Rebecca's parents invite her to return home, saying they forgive her. Unfortunately, she doesn't forgive them.
In more flashbacks, Lucas remembers the good times with Siobhan, their talk the night she died, and her death.
Proctor is also mourning, obviously, connecting more with Emily Lotus. They have sex, but not the usual way Kai has sex; this time it seemed a bit more intimate. Back at the Cadi, Brock has a talk with Gordon, who informs the Deputy that he has to testify against Proctor. Also, it turns out Gordon's pretty good with a gun, these days.
Back at Sugar's, Hood is drowning his sorrows with booze as his thieving team assembles, with some progression in the vault mission coming together. This also leads to Job offering his help in dealing with Chayton, but Bunker comes in, informing Hood that the FBI is in town to deal with Chayton. Obviously Hood isn't going to just let someone else deal with Chayton, though.
With Proctor mourning and probably falling in love, Rebecca is taking over some of his business. She meets with some Philadelphia drug associates as well.
Unfortunately, Rebecca's taking charge doesn't go over well with Kai.
Carrie meets up with Stowe, but not for the reasons he thinks. She manages to get his hand print for the job. Deva is doing some shifty stuff as well, which catches the attention of a new admirer, Charlie Knowles.
As the FBI plans out the attack on Chayton, Hood and Job take it upon themselves to go ahead with their own plan. They get to Chayton first, hence the main image at the top of this page. Unfortunately, after stabbing a knife into his leg and twisting it a whole lot, another Red Bone is alerted and a fight ensues. The FBI eventually moves in, with Hood giving chase to Chayton. He loses the Sheriff, but his sister Amy tracks him down. After a little talk, he starts to choke her, but Hood shoots him. Chayton manages to escape, jumping into a river.
The episode ends with another fantasy flashback to "what could've been," but this time Hood meets Siobhan in a different way. It ends with Job picking him up, leaving Banshee for good, thus leaving her alive. Lucas believes she would've been better off not knowing him at all.
This had to be one of the most bittersweet episodes of the series, with those fantasy situations really tugging at our heartstrings. What did you think of this episode of Banshee? Let us know in the comments section below!
