E!'s Fashion Police co-host, Giuliana Rancic, has been catching "hell" after calling Disney star Zendaya's dreadlocks "weed" during a recap of the Oscars red carpet this weekend.

MStars News previously reported that Rancic said, "I feel like she smells like patchouli oil." followed by co-host Kelly Osbourne saying, "Or weed," and then repeated by Rancic, who normally attends all red carpets to chat with the stars.

This time, it seems Rancic wasn't close enough to confirm if Zendaya did smell of such ugly things that she referred to.

Zendaya didn't see the comments as a laughing matter. She took to Instagram to make a lengthy statement calling out Rancic for her "disrespectful" comments. Part of Zendaya's reply went like this: "There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect," Zendaya continued,"To say that an 18 year old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or "weed" is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive." Zendaya whose been compared to the beautiful Lisa Bonet, by Vogue was also compared to Venus de Milo in the nude gown she wore.

The was a lot of nude gowns this year on the Oscars red carpet including, Oprah, J-Lo and more. But it was Zendaya's hair that got the most attention.

On our way to red carpet. See you there. #OSCARS

Rancic finally took to Twitter to directly apologize to Zendaya and claims she was not being "racist," but referring to "bohemian chic."

The host wrote: "Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!!"
