Brian Wilson is arguably one of the most important figures in American popular music due to his songwriting as the Beach Boys bandleader. In Love & Mercy, a new biopic-styled movie about the tortured genius, we get a glimpse into the height of his career in the 1960s with actor Paul Dano and the lows of his life in the 1980s with star John Cusack, both portraying Wilson. We find out pretty quickly in this trailer that neither Dano nor Cusack resemble the songwriter, but their performances are what bring us into his story. If you're familiar with Wilson's life and career, you know that the highs were certainly high, but the lows were terrifying to imagine.
Truly an American icon, this story about Brian Wilson should be told. So when it hits theaters on June 5, 2015, we'll see what Wilson's life looks like on the big screen, and how we'll react to it!
