Season 3 of The Americans continues with the spy couple going on their new mission on FX. While chasing after their latest target, Kimberly (Julia Garner), will Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings have to "torture" Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) to keep their covers from being blown?
In our recent recap, back at the Russian prison, Nina (Annet Mahendru) is given info about her cellmate, who was screwed by her boyfriend. Nina is supposed to get the truth out of her and if she is successful, Nina will receive a lighter sentence. Though it takes time, Nina convinces her cellmate to confide in her.
In our recent recap, Oleg Burov (Costa Ronin) is caught by surprise by Stan. Knowing his defector is a spy, but he can't prove it, Stan wants to trade her to save Nina. Though they're jealous of each other's love for Nina, Oleg and Stan realize Nina is short on time and the defector is their only chance.
In an interview with Star Pulse, Emmerich reveals what the writers have planned for him, "Stan is tortured. And it's great fun, actually, funnily enough to play that. They just pound him. The women and the spies, he keeps getting close and failing and losing the trail, and at the end of season two, everyone's kind of leaving him. Nina he's losing, his wife is leaving, it's a sad place where we leave him. Hopefully he'll have some chance to get things more aligned in season three."
