Adventure Time is easily one of the most beloved current animated TV shows on Cartoon Network, and has been for the last several seasons on the air. So it might come as no surprise that Warner Brothers Pictures this week announced that a feature length movie based on the adventures of Finn the human and Jake the dog is in the works, with producers Chris McKay and Roy Lee behind the project. Premiering back in 2010 on Cartoon Network, Adventure Time tells the story of Finn and his best friend, dog, and adoptive brother Jake. They live in the land of Ooo, a post-apocalyptic world centuries after our civilization ended, where magic is very real and adventures are abundant. Fans of the series know that there are plenty of avenues a film can explore, but details on the plot or script have not been released just yet, according to Slash Film.
Currently in its sixth season, Adventure Time has created a universe of a story, full of fantastical characters, stories that reach deep into the past and the future, and even some romance for Finn, a hero in a world of princesses.
Deadline (via Film Drunk) broke this news, explaining that the show's creator, Ward will be involved in writing and producing the movie.
