Before 41st Annual Saturn Awards takes place in June 2015, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has announced its nominations. From the CW network, The Flash, including Grant Gustin and Wentworth Miller, have taken the lead in their own categories.
In our first recap, Barry (Gustin)was struck by lightning and thrown into a vat of chemicals, After the particle accelerator explosion, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) have been studying Barry's newfound super-speed powers. As the scarlet speedster, the trio have been fighting against the metahumans, who use their powers to harm Central City, including their mentor, Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).
In his first appearance, Going Rogue, Captain Cold (Miller) forced a railroad train to derail, putting the lives of many in danger. In his second appearance, Revenge of the Rogues, Captain Cold came back for a re-match and brought along Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell). Though the scarlet speedster stopped him twice, Captain Cold's sister showed up to break him out of the prison van.
As we previously mentioned, the Saturn Awards have released their full list of nominees. For the first-time ever, the award organization created a special category to consider television series based on comic book super heroes.
Wentworth, who has shown up twice as Captain Cold, earned a nomination for Best Guest Performance in a Television Series. For taking on the lead role, Gustin is nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series. The show itself is being considered for Best Superhero Adaptation Television Series.
