'Pretty Little Liars' Recap Episode 23 'The Melody Lingers On': 8 Best Quotes From Last Night's Show

One secret we definitely can't keep is how excited we were for the new episode of Pretty Little Liars. Last night's March 10 episode, "The Melody Lingers On," centered around Alison's trial and all the drama that came with it. As the drama unfolded between Hanna and Ali, we couldn't help but be nervous for our favorite little liars.

As Hanna and Ali are sitting behind bars, the other liars are racing against the clock to find a way to clear both of their friends's names. Funny, since Ali was arrested after they set up a plan to get her caught. But after new evidence came to the girls's attention that cleared her name, we guess all's forgiven.

Ali's lawyer has a lot of faith in the American legal system, as she believe that if they can get just one juror to believe that she's innocent, then the rest of them will come around.

But when the opposing lawyer starts talking, it seems this won't be the case, as he pretty much punches a whole in the kidnapping story that Ali concocted, making the girls think that Cyrus is the one who spilled the beans to the police.

The girls, still grasping at straws, reach out to the ads that Ali placed in the papers to communicate with "A," but when some new hints lead them to a phone call from a blocked number that plays the girls a French song, they are just as clueless as ever. Hanna is their only saving grace who remembers that Mona used to play that song in her room.

The strange yet catchy tune then leads them to Mona's house, where they find the same foreign music being played from Mona's open window. They go in to find that her room has been trashed and the only thing that's left for them is a note from "A." But the girls believe "A" couldn't find clues and leaves the note to throw them off.

When Emily tells them to think like Mona for a second, Spencer discovers that Mona has hidden a note in her hand mirror, sending them on another wild goose chase.

Probably the most awkward and scandalous part of the episode comes when Jason takes the witness stand to testify. And boy does he testify, even letting some confessions slip while he's at it, mainly about him being with Hanna's mom, Ashley, sexually. The lawyer also quizzes him on whether or not Hanna's mom bribed him with sexual favors to change his story regarding Alison.

The whole confession pretty much shoots Ashley's relationship with the town's pastor to hell, as she tells him that this is his out and that she wants him to take it.

While the episode ends without a verdict, and without solving the clue Mona left in her mirror, Jason does share a touching moment with his sister, telling her that he believes she's innocent.
