Kim Kardashian may be a Madonna fan, but it doesn't seem like the Queen of Pop returns the favor.
Just days after Kardashian gushed about Madonna being the source of inspiration for her new platinum blonde hair color, the Queen of Pop slammed the reality star's talent in a recent interview with The Sun U.K.
"I've never watched Kim's TV show, and I've never seen the sex tape she was in. I know Kim, and I've had a few conversations with her. She's a very sweet girl," said Madonna. "But does it surprise me that she's famous without being an artist? I think that's a sign of the times."
She went on to say that she's not a fan of people who use sex tapes to garner fame.
"At the beginning I think it was mistakes and then people realized how much publicity they could get out of it so it was sort of like: 'I'll make a sex tape and then it will accidentally get leaked,'" she continued. "It's become a big part of people promoting themselves and getting their careers started. Does it surprise me? I think that's the sign of the times that we live in."
Interestingly enough, it's Kanye that's "pushing Kim to be a trendsetter like Madonna," a source revealed to Hollywood Life. "He's always felt like Kim is today's Madonna, obviously not with regard to music, but with regard to setting trends."
Madge however, feels differently. She thinks Kanye, not Kim, is the new Madonna.
"Kanye is the black Madonna," she told the Daily News earlier this week. She revealed that she and Kanye West have talked about their shared flair for leading controversial lives — both professionally and personally.
"We know, and recognize, that we have that in common," she said about the rapper. "We're comrades in the envelope-pushing genre."
Madonna's latest envelope-pushing move? When she flashed her butt at the crowd during this year's Grammy Awards.
Her response to the controversy was classic: "B*tch, this is what my ass looks like — show me what your ass looks like when you're 56!"
