‘Armor Wars’ #1: Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark Dives Into Secret Wars' Warzones As Iron Man!

Before Robert Downey Jr. plays him on the big screen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Strak takes part in the biggest Marvel Comics event ever. Marked in the Battleworld map, Iron Man has to stop the Marvel Universes from colliding in Secret Wars tie-in, Armor Wars #1, from James Robinson and artist Marcio Takara.

As we previously mentioned, Secret Wars features the Marvel superheroes from alternate realities coming together to meet in an epic standoff. The Marvel's superheroes and super-villains will be forced to defend themselves for the survival of their universe. There will be no Marvel Universe, no Ultimate Universe, or any other, just Battleworld.

According the release, readers will take a visit to Technopolis, a shining beacon for all Battleworld to see. Full of science and wonder, the techno-utopia was created by the hands of rival genius brothers, Tony Stark and Arno Stark. Shadows soon start to fall over this armored paradise. A unique disease will force everyone to start wearing armor, in order to live and breathe.

Based on the original Armor Wars, in Iron Man #225-#231,Tony Stark was tracking down super villains and rivals who had built armor based on his stolen designs. In an interview with Comics Alliance, Robinson reveals the heart of the reboot revolves around a murder mystery, "I just wanted to give the readers something they might not expect. Don't worry, there will always be a big "armor war" in each issue. But I love crime fiction, so the idea of making the series a murder mystery where it's the solving of the crime that leads to so much action, is, I think a novel twist."
