Georgia State's underdog run came to a close Saturday night after a loss to Xavier knocked them out of the famed NCAA tournament. Ron Hunter, the team's coach and their inspirational leader, tried everything to not break down but it seemed the emotional loss was too much and Hunter began to weep during the post-game press conference.
"I told them not to be sad. What a great week. Unbelievable week," the Georgia coach told the press. "There's nothing to be sad about – especially for me. To be honest with you it's the greatest week of my life. As a coach this is the best time of my life. And as a father..." It was at this point where Hunter broke down and grabbed his son RJ's shoulder.

When you have the type of run that Georgia State had, you can't fault a man for breaking down on camera. It's the nature of the beast; especially after he watched his son, RJ, sink a game-winning-3-pointer against Hunter in the closing moments of the second round. It was such an unbelievable moment, Coach Hunter fell off his chair and was forced to ride around in a scooter for the rest tournament.
While this year may have come to a close for Georgia State, the proud and injured Hunter proclaimed: "We'll be back."
One thing that remains to be seen is whether RJ Hunter will be staying on board with his father next year. The two-time Sun Belt winner has the privilege of staying with him or entering himself into the NBA Draft. Either way it's a win-win situation you'd have to think. If he stays, he continues on with his dad for another year and if he goes he'll most likely be a first rounder.

In an article on USA Today, Coach hunter spoke on how proud he was of his son and the memories they shared together.
"The highlight of my life honestly is coaching my kid," he said. "The first college game I coached him was against Duke. He got a layup and scored the first point of the game, but everything after that has been a blur to me, so I can't wait to go back and celebrate as a dad. When you're the head coach, it's hard to say, 'Hey, that's my kid.' I've never been able to thump my chest."
