As detailed by IGN, these new trailers tell two different stories that take place in similar situations. The first trailer that premiered featured the Spartan Locke tracking down the iconic Master Chief character from the franchise, which is the basic story of the video game. According to the synopsis of the game, Master Chief allegedly betrayed humanity, thus bounty hunters come in to bring him to justice. In this first trailer, Locke tracks down the heavily wounded Master Chief, ending at a broken statue of the character. He switches to his pistol and aims it at his target.

"All hail the conquering hero," Locke says in this new trailer, as he walks up to the injured Master Chief.

"Let us remember him as our protector and not the one who gave us ... this," Locke continues as he gestures to the wreckage around him.

In the next trailer, we see a similar scene play out, but this time Master Chief is the one finding the injured Locke!

Is this what you wanted?" he asks the fallen soldier. "Is this what you were looking for?"
