MStars News has been overjoyed after learning that Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick's son finally arrived! We previously reported that the couple welcomed their first child, Israel David Dillard, into the world Monday, April 6. But before baby Israel arrived, his parents hosted a gender reveal party to find out just what they were having. In Tuesday's April 7, episode of 19 Kids & Counting, Jill and Derick learned whether they were having a boy or a girl.
If it was a girl, her name was going to be the Biblical name Selah, which means "to pause and reflect." Now we've learned that baby Israel's name means "God will prevail."
Derick thought he was having a girl while Jill's dad and mother, Jim Bob and Michelle, were on the fence about predicting a boy.
Derick's mom was receiving cancer treatments in Omaha, Nebraska, while her son and his wife learned that they were having a baby boy. Jill allowed three of her siblings to go take an ultrasound to find out if they were having a neice or a nephew and had the job of trying to keep the gender of the baby a secret from the rest of the Duggar family.
"I don't think it's going to be too hard because it's just hours before we bust the piñata," James, Jill's brother, said.
During the ultrasound, Derick revealed it was the first time he'd heard a baby's heartbeat.
After Jill's family arrived they let her silbings take turns hitting the piñata.
"We're gonna break open the piñata, and y'all will get to see what the baby is by either having pink or blue candy come out of it," she said.
After taking turns hitting the piñata, blue candy finally came out when one of the older Duggar boys hit it hard.
"It's just something about having a little boy," Derick said, as Jill added, "A little Derick." The new father explained why he'd like a boy: "It's something about the father-son connection."
"Little Israel is his name," Jill revealed to her sister-in-law Anna Duggar, who's expecting her fourth child with Josh Duggar in July over the phone.
Derick's mom was in for two surprises, when her son Dan Dillard -- seen below with his nephew -- arrived at her treatment facility with pink and blue balloons.

"I've been calling her 'she' all this time," Derick's mother said, when Derick's brother told her she was going to have a grandson by an "It's a boy" balloon.
How sweet. Congrats again, guys!
