Jermaine Jackson Name Change: Michael Jackson's Older Bro Hopes to Become Mr. Jacksun

Jermaine Jackson, the older bro of Michael Jackson who still currently tours with his other brothers who originally made up the Jackson 5, is ready for a change - with his ultra-famous surname. Reports confirm that Jermaine hopes to legally alter his last name from Jackson to Jacksun.  In a petition filed in L.A. County Superior Court on Wednesday (Nov. 7), Jermaine insists that he only wants to change his name simply for "artistic reasons." Phonetically, the spelling makes no difference. And honestly, some Twitter fans just don't get it.

According to Jermaine's good friend Steve Dennis, speaking in behalf of the future Mr. Jacksun, it's not uncommon for well-known artists to legally change their names - "It is something he has chosen to do, and it's fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie, you've got to blame it on the sunshine" (referring to Jackson 5 disco hit, "Blame it on the Boogie," get it?).

Some fans are baffled - if Jermaine is truly changing his name for "artistic reasons," wouldn't he choose something a little more unique and original? And if the "artistic" excuse is just really a cover up, and Jermaine just wants to finally distance himself from his crazy fam - wouldn't he still pick a name not so similar?
