'Justified' Season 6 Finale: Ep 13 'Promise' Recap: Timothy Olyphant's Raylan Givens Showdown With Boyd!

Based on the crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the Season 6 finale of Justified has arrived. In Episode 13, will Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) break his "Promise" in order to stop Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) and Avery Markham (Sam Elliott) from killing Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter)?

With the handcuffs on him, Raylan is put in the backseat of a police car. Boyd smokes his cigarette and spots a shovel. Ava is taken directly to Markham, who wants the rest of his money. As Avery threatens her, Ava reveals she left the money buried at Grubes' property and gives up her uncle.

Tim (Jacob Pitts) and Rachel (Erica Tazel) lead the manhunt for Ava and discover the gator necklace. Over the police radio, Raylan hears about the necklace and meets Art Mullen (Nick Seacy). Boyd accidentally digs up a corpse and picks up the phone cell. 

Ava talks to Boyd, warning him that Avery wants his money, Boyd tells her to meet at Compass Rock. Boon is ordered to kill Ava's uncle once he gets the money. Art gives Raylan back his gun and badge; kickstarting their search for Ava.

Tim and Rachel find the hideout empty, start shooting at Boyd. After Tim shoots him, Boyd throws dynamite sticks into the air as he makes his getaway. Raylan and Art get the info they need from a snitch. They have to split one they hear about Boyd throwing dynamite.

Avery is upset when he hears no one has showed up at the location. Boyd then shows up at Avery's hideout. Avery and Boyd start shooting at each other. Boyd gets the apprehend and shoots him in the eye. He stops Ava from grabbing the gun.

Raylan shows up after Boyd fires an empty gun. Raylan then kicks another gun to him.  When Boyd asks why, Ava tells him that she would have acted like him. Boyd promises to kill Ava, then him. Boyd is then put in handcuffs and sent off. 

Raylan drives Ava as she tries to bribe him. Ava wants to know why he didn't kill him. Maybe nothing can keep him incarcerated. Boon then hits Raylan's car with his. Boon and Raylan have their own showdown in the middle of the street. 

In their standoff, they both manage to shoot each other. Loretta (Kaitlyn Dever) stops Boon from pulling the trigger again. Raylan lifts his head up and realizes Boon put a bullet through his hat. Too weak to stand, Raylan watches as Ava drives off in his police car. 

Raylan walks back into the office with his head stitched. He says one last goodbye to Art but Ava is still gone. They shake handstand have a drink together. After cleaning his desk, Raylan hands a book over to Tim. He says farewell to Rachel and walks out with a new hat.

Four years later, Raylan is eating ice cream with his daughter. Winona (Natalie Zea) has a new man in her life, Richard. Rylan promises to pickup his daughter after school. 

Raylan has a new assignment and spots a major clue. He finds Ava, older and with longer hair, at her new place in California. They walk across the ranch, Ava reveals Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns) helped her out of Harlan. Ava helps with special needs kids but Raylan isn't too sorry.

She has been raising Boyd's kid, Zachariah, on her own. Raylan promises he won't take him in. 

In prison, Boyd has found Jesus again and leads the prison clergy. Raylan and Boyd meet again, talk about Ava. He shows Boyd her death certificate and license plate. Boyd cries hearing about her death. Rylan admits to Boyd he visited him because they're still best friends since digging coal together.
