USA Network casts 5 recurring roles in the upcoming hacker drama, Mr. Robot. This June premiere, Elliot Villar (Gotham), Azhar Khan (Veep), Ron Cephas Jones (Banshee), Stephanie Corneliussen (Hello Ladies: The Movie) and Michael Drayer (The Sopranos) join the exciting new series starring Christian Slater (Pump Up The Volume) and Rami Malek (The Pacific).
As we previously mentioned, Mr. Robot centers on a young programmer named Elliot (Malek). Suffering from an anti-social disorder, Elliot can only connect to people by hacking them. Elliot is then recruited to join an underground hacker organization, named "fsociety," determined to bring down corporate America by a mysterious anarchist named Mr. Robot (Slater).
Portia Doubleday (Carrie), Carly Chaikin (Suburgatory) and Martin Wallstrom (Simple Simon) also star in the cast. We mentioned before, the hacker drama is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, June 24. The fifth season of Suits is also expected to air beforehand that very same night.
The Hollywood Reporter has listed the cast members and mentions their roles on the show:
1) Villar will portray Fernando Vera, an entrepreneur and meth-addicted criminal. Fernando is convinced that he is cosmically linked to Elliot.
2) Khan plays Mobley, an important member in fsociety's grand plan for a hack that will change the world.
3) Jones is Romero, fsociety's resident hippie and also the group's consummate cynic. He second-guess the group whenever they make their next move.
4) Corneliussen will play Joanna, the pregnant wife of Tyrell Wellick (Wallstrom). Whatever it takes, at any cost, Joanna strives to put her family in a position of wealth and power.
5) Drayer will portray Cisco, a top-level hacker with hip-hop sensibilities. Not to be confused with Cisco on The Flash, this Cisco will help Darlene (Chaikin), his main fsociety contact. He negotiates the hard-to-understand motivations and customs of fsociety's Chinese counterpart.
