We recently reported on an actor short list that Marvel has compiled for casting the role of Spider-Man, a.k.a. Peter Parker in the upcoming Cinematic Universe movies including a standalone film, Captain America: Civil War and other Avengers projects. This list included Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James, but given Marvel's history of casting leading actors that weren't on original lists (Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc), we're not too surprised that Disney XD star Billy Unger might be in the running now! Aside from a social media campaign started by Unger and his fans to get him the role, Marvel might also be promoting this star to frontrunner from the looks of some photos.

As ComicBookMovie points out, Unger showed up at the 2015 premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron and posted a picture with the hashtag "SpiderMan" on Instagram and Twitter. He's also been addressing the Spider-Man rumors on Twitter. Check out his posts right here:

While we could just explain these posts as him trying to get the part on his own, the official Twitter account for The Avengers posted a photo of Unger at the premiere, making us wonder why they'd single the 19-year-old actor out? Check it out right here (via UPROXX):
