Early Apple Watch Glitches Include Issues with Digital Crown, Personal Tattoos

The Apple Watch was slated to be the next big technological breakthrough for the iPhone's parent company. Upon its release on April 24, those who bought the watch ran into a few unusual problems and glitches. Two issues have to do with the digital crown and even personal tattoos.

For the issue pertaining to digital crown, many users found that it gets sticky. This is clearly a problem, as the little button laid out on the side of the watch is used for scrolling through apps, emails and pretty much any other important thing the device is supposed to do.

On the Mac Rumors website one customer was quoted as saying that they took back the item due to the stickiness.

"Well, started experiencing same issue with my sport. Bad enough that double clicking was almost impossible," the Apple Watch user said. "Took in today to Genius and three diff people came over and tested. All said was not normal. But I decided to send back now. Will be interesting test to see how much I miss it. Bigger concern is why and perhaps the sport vs ss and possibility of it keeps happening."

Apple had a disconcerting answer to the stickiness. According to the company, bewildered owners of the device should run it under water. Keep in mind that the Apple Watch isn't waterproof. Still, the company says this is the quickest fix. This apparently frees up any dirt that latches itself under the digital crown.

Now if you have tattoos, you shouldn't expect the Apple Watch to function properly as it is said to throw off the heart rate sensor. Some found that the heart rate sensor wouldn't read their pulse and couldn't directly detect the person when placed against the skin of its owner. Apparently darker tattoo colors such as black and red can't register in the sensor.
