Marvel's 'Inferno' #1 Preview: X-Men's Colossus, Nightcrawler, & Domino Fight 'Secret Wars!'

The mutant superhero team, The X-Men, have a big role to play in Marvel Comics'  big event, Secret Wars. In this special preview, will X-men mutant members, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Domino be able to stop the destruction of the Marvel Universe in writer Dennis Hopeless  and artist Javier Garron's Inferno #1?

As we previously mentioned, Secret Wars features the Marvel superheroes from alternate realities coming together to meet in an epic standoff. Marvel's superheroes and super-villains will be forced to defend themselves for the survival of their universe. There will be no Marvel Universe, no Ultimate Universe, or any other, just Battleworld.

In the plot synopsis, during the fifth anniversary of the fall of the world, Colossus leads the surviving team members of the X-Men back into the Inferno. Though no one knows what lies on the other side, Colossus is certain that he's not coming back without his sister. Against demons, ghouls, and the Goblin Queen herself. Colossus leads Nightcrawler, Boom Boom and Domino in an effort to save Illyana, but does she actually want to be saved? 

In an interview with Marvel, Hopeless describes the inspiration came from a New Mutants tale, "I really loved the exploration of Illyana's growing up in [Limbo]. She has this whole crazy history with all these demons that none of her teammates or her brother understood. We're definitely going to be delving into Illyana's Darkchylde side and how it affects her relationships."

The Cable & X-Force scribe describes Colossus' mindset, "He lost his sister to the Inferno five years ago and is absolutely obsessed with getting her back. Unfortunately, nobody is allowed in or out of the island. Piotr has been carrying this heavy burden around for years, always waiting for his next opportunity to right the wrong. He's definitely not somebody you'd want to mess with."

As we previously mentioned, Miles Morales might lose his home world in Ultimate End #1, Magneto leads the mutant superhero team in Age of Apocalypse #1, and Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver clash over their father's throne in House of M #1.

Inferno #1 will arrive in stores sometime in May 27, 2015.
