'Silicon Valley' Season 2: Ep 5 Recap: Will Thomas Middleditch Lose His 'Server Space?'

From the comedic mind of Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-head), Season 2 of Silicon Valley continues on HBO. In Episode 5, will Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller), Richard Hendriks (Thomas Middleditch), and the rest of the tech gang be able to find new 'Server Space?'

Richard wakes up covered in night sweats, which his doctor says is a precursor to bedwetting. After visiting their new offices, Richard has a new place to move into after Erlich's place. Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) is happy with the new offices because the floor above them is a modeling agency.

At Hooli XYZ, Big Head (Josh Brener)is using the company's resources to make a potato launcher. The other XYZ co-founder (Patrick Fischler) is making headway into technology as he gives a new robotic arm to an amputated monkey. The monkey though uses his new arm to fling poop and masturbate. This disaster later on causes the co-founder to get fired and replaced by Big Head as sole founder of Hooli XYZ.

Just as the gang is about to move and Erlich hands Richard a kimono as a parting gift, Hooli threatens major web-based publishing companies if they offer their server space to Pied Piper. To the rescue, Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) will start making his own servers and get the company running in a week. Richard though has to make a difficult choice; use the money for servers or their new offices? 

Because they're not moving out, Richard runs into a dilemma with the neighbor because they're not supposed to be a business residence. Because Gilfoyle is using the garage, Jared has to move out and move in with Richard. Along with his night sweats, Richard also has to deal with Jared (Zach Woods) talking in his sleep, speaking louldly in German. 

Richard gets mad at Gilfoyle, who stops working on the servers and starts getting high. Dinesh screws up and overloads the servers, taking down the power to the rest of the neighborhood. This time, the neighbor really threatens to tell on Pied Piper for their illegal business activities. 

During the night, Richard wakes up to Jared screaming in German. Everybody else has picked a spot in Erlich's home to crash for the night. Richard walks out into the yard and hears strange animal noises. 

After taking a picture of their neighbor, Ricard shows his snapshot to Elrich. Their neighbor is actually holding an illegal pet, a ferret, at his home. The neighbor promises not to say anything and offers his guest home to Jared. Erlich reminds his neighbor that Apple and other big names became famous because they started out doing illegal activities in their garage. 

Meanwhile, Gavin Belson (Matt Ross) is ready to launch Nucleus ahead of schedule and use it to promote a major UFC live stream event. Unfortunately, the Hooli Team is way behind on production but no one wants to tell their bosses. How behind are they...the numbers grow up to 15 months.
