The Season 4 finale of Person of Interest aired on CBS. In Season 5 of Person of Interest, will Finch (Michael Emerson), Reese (Jim Caviezel), and Root (Amy Acker) will find some "closure" from The Machine's war with Samaritan during their upcoming 13 episode arc in 2016.
In our finale recap, Root realized they had two clips left and their briefcase was running low on double AA batteries. As Samaritan's agents took out Elias and Dominic, Greer's men put a bag over Control's face and took her hostage. As Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine started playing, Finch walked out, with no gun, alongside Reese and Root as they started shooting down Samaritan's agents.
As we previously mentioned, Person of Interest was renewed alongside NCIS, Hawaii Five-0, The Good Wife, and 11 other shows. Because Season 5 has only been granted 13 episodes, which makes fans wonder if this will actually be the last season of POI.
In an interview with IGN, CBS president Nina Tassler discussed during the CBS Upfront press event whether Season 5 will indeed be the end for the show.
Tassler revealed she had been in talks with the executive producers about the new year, "We're having those conversations with the team right now. Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman came in and pitched really terrific ideas for the new season. We have to see."
Tassler adds, "It's always been a really smart, creative show. If it is [the final season], then we'll have a great ending."
According to TV Line, POI will premiere during the midseason. Limitless will take over the Tuesday time slot at 10pm when the show premieres.
