Depending on how you look at it, this week, Patriots owner Bob Kraft has either made a sound statement regarding his team's image or he's hung his golden goose quarterback, Tom Brady, out to dry. Kraft claims he has no problem paying the $1 million fine and that losing the draft picks are okay too. The plan is to just get the Deflategate mess over with.

He made the big announcement during a press conference in San Francisco.

"Although I might disagree with what is decided, I do have respect for the commissioner and believe that he's doing what he perceives to be in the best interests of the full 32," Kraft says. "I don't want to continue the rhetoric that's gone on for the last four months. I'm going to accept, reluctantly, what he has given to us, and not continue this dialogue and rhetoric. And we won't appeal."

Kraft took no questions after the announcement and left the podium afterwards. Even though he agreed with the disciplinary actions put forth by Roger Goodell, he believes that the ruling was "unreasonable" and "unprecedented."

Right now, the Patriots' potential quarterback depth is looking a little slim. On their bench sits Jimmy Garoppolo and Garrett Gilbert. The two quarterbacks have seen little action on the field due to the best thrower in the sport being on the field for essentially every game.

The free agent pool isn't any better. All that's left is Michael Vick, Matt Flynn -- who has made a career of situations such as these -- Tavaris Jackson and Jason Campbell, who has been contemplating retirement. Vick may seem like the best choice of the four quarterbacks but the media circus this would cause would rival the one the Patriots are going through now. The safe money goes with Flynn. He has done an okay job backing Rogers for a few years and all the Patriots need is "okay" to get them by until Brady returns.
