The Season 2 finale of Turn: Washington's Spies aired on AMC. Because the second season ended on a major cliffhanger, viewers are anxiously wondering if revolutionary undercover spy, Abraham Woodhull (Jame Bell) will make it out alive to actually see Season 3 of Turn?
According to the finale recap by LA Times, after shooting Hewlett's messenger on a country road. Woodhull is suddenly taken hostage by mercenary Robert Rogers (Angus Macfadyen). After strangling his neck and tying him up, Robert has plans for Abe to setup "a proper trap" to hurt Andre and aide the American spy ring.
Bustle reports the ratings have been steady for the sophomore season, but "Sadly, Turn's ratings aren't as high as they were in the first season, when then show regularly averaged more than a million viewers. But, according to TV Series Finale, the ratings for Season 2 have at least held steady, with an average of 760,000 viewers each week. A dedicated fanbase is hard to find in this attention-span-starved age, so it might be worth it for AMC to keep them happy (and hope they tune into whatever comes on after Turn)."
With Bell's appearance in the the summer blockbuster, Fanastic Four, his career could skyrocket based on the box-office performance. It's better for AMC to grab hold of the Jumper actor before he gets too big.
Den of Geek mentions, AMC took a few weeks after the conclusion of Turn season one before they made their next announcement. After a lengthy time, Washington Spies was given the greenlight from AMC. So maybe in the next few weeks. whether Turn will be cancelled or renewed will be announced.
