'Teen Mom 2' Leah Messer Rehab Fallout: MTV Star's Childhood Contributed To Alleged Drug Addiction!

Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer is still going through her emotional issues and alleged drug dependency in rehab, but the MTV star's problems didn't just occur recently. The mother of three has been battling her demons all of her life.

"She had a very rough time growing up," a source told Radar Online. "Many people, even her close friends, don't know that she dealt with a lot of pain and suffering when she was a very young girl."

Even though the reality star wants the public to believe she is in rehab for "depression and stress," that is not the case, according to the source.

"Of course she is getting help for her drug problem, but she is also learning to cope with her past," the source told the gossip site.

In a chilling scene on the show that made her famous, Leah is seen in a comatose state while talking on the phone in a doctor's office.

"She was far more emotionally disturbed and her addiction was already serious at that point," according to Radar. "No one knew what to do."

As MStars News reported, the West Virginia native was forced into rehab by MTV producers since she refused to admit she had a problem.

"Leah didn't exactly go willingly, however. The production source tells The Ashley that the show's producers had to essentially force Leah to go," The Ashley Reality Roundup reported. "They used something in her contract terms to force her to go to rehab ... producers basically refused to continue their contract with her until she went."

Leah's own mother, Dawn Spears, also refused to admit that her daughter was going to rehab for popping prescription pills.

"TRUE FANS listen up. Leah is NOT going to rehab lol. This is Momma Dawn and I 100% ASSURE you that Leah is NOT going to a DRUG REHAB," she wrote on Leah's Facebook page. "Lots of LOVE to the true fans. all will come out on the upcoming show about Leah Dawn Calvert, [Leah's second ex-husband] Jeremy, [Leah's first ex-husband] Corey, [Corey's wife] Miranda, and the babies. But rest assure I HATE drugs don't want association with them and wouldn't NEVER Condone them."
