Based on the Alfred Hitchcock suspense thriller, Psycho, the Season 3 finale of Bates Motel aired on A&E. As fans had hoped for, Season 4 of Bates Motel has been renewed, with Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and Norma Bates (Vera Farminga) returning for 20 episodes, with Season 5 included.
As we perviously mentioned, after seeing how her family's life turned for the better without her, Bradley wants to leave again, but this time around, Norman wants to go with her. While Dylan and Emma are having their intimate moments, Norma now knows from Caleb that he saw Norman slip into a trance and become his split personality. Everything seemed to be pointing that "Norma" will come out again and someone in the cast would die.
During the season finale, Norman was just about to leave town with Bradley, until "Mother" wanted to speak with her. "Norma" came out, chased after Bradley, and bashed her head against he rocks. Norman snaps out of it, thinking it was his mother who killed Bradley. Meanwhile, Dylan illegally earned the money for Emma's much-needed lung transplant. They shared a kiss before Emma headed off to her surgery.
According to Variety, Bates Motel will be coming back with Season 4 and Season 5. Both 10-episode seasons will air in 2016.
Rob Sharenow, exec vice president and general manager of A&E and Lifetime, tells the site, "We are thrilled to bring fans two more seasons to witness the next stages of Norman's transformation into the most notorious psychopath in cinematic history."
Co-creator Kerry Ehrin teases this might be the series end, "From the end of the first season, Carlton and I both had the exact same instinct of five seasons. Emotionally, yes, a very specific one. I will say it's beautiful."
