Last year, Michael Keaton flirted with a comic book role in Birdman. The movie almost felt like an ode to his own life since he was best known as the Batman before Christian Bale ever donned the Dark Knight's getup. It's been a year since Birdman and now Keaton will be a superhero once again as he'll have a starring role in the Boom! Studios movie, Imagine Agents. The movie is about an organization called I.M.A.G.I.N.E. and the imaginary friends of children coming to life.
Imagine Agents came to life when Fox closed a deal that allowed them to use Image Comic stories. Keaton himself and Michael Sugar of Anonymous Content will produce it. Ross Richie of Boom! Studios will also serve as producer.
Contents to be revealed on January 8th at Image Expo!

The unique idea of imaginary friends coming to life was due to the writing prowess of Brian Joines and the artist, Bachan. Their creation is only a few years old as the first issue came out in 2013. On the big screen, we'll probably see the story of a jaded 20-year veteran agent who must mentor a young archivist.
The reason Keaton looks to be in another big comic book movie is because of that awesome job he did in Birdman. He's almost the perfect fit for the comic book's main character, David Slantern. After Birdman, a role like this was inevitable.
The movie won four Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Original Screenplay and Cinematography. Keaton was nominated for Best Actor and Emma Stone and Edward Norton were nominated for Best Supporting Actor. In 2014, Birdman was tied with Grand Budapest Hotel for the highest number of nominations.
Will you be heading to the comic book store to catch up on I.M.A.G.I.N.E. before the movie comes out?
