Is Mariah Carey Marrying Billionaire James Packer After Nick Cannon Divorce

Mariah Carey has moved on from her marriage with comedian, actor and rapper Nick Cannon in a big way. After divorcing Cannon, the pop star Carey went from a one-man media empire to a boyfriend who is simply known as a billionaire. Carey and her new man, the Australian born James Packer, have only been dating a short time and they're already talking about marriage.

When Packer said he wanted to marry the pop diva "sooner" rather than "later", it's being said she's open to the idea. These last few days the pop-billionaire duo has been travelling the country. While riding on a boat Packer even blasted Carey's music and made sure everyone around them heard it.

The two started dating shortly after Packer went to see Carey in concert in Vegas. That was a month ago and it seemed like whatever he did worked. Her heart is apparently won. Especially since sources close to them told TMZ that they've been wearing matching robes like they're on their honeymoon. Did it ever get to that point so quickly with Cannon?

According to Forbes magazine Packer is worth more than $4.6 billion. In 2012 he sold the pay-TV company Consolidated Media Holdings on News Corp and pocketed $1 billion. It was because of this he was able to focus on his Australian gaming company Crown Ltd. That added a few more bucks into his banking repertoire.

When his father Kerry Packer died in 2005, he inherited more money, a whopping $5 billion.

These days Packer has been a strong supporter of a program that helps indigenous Australians move into corporate jobs. He also owns a Los Angeles film company called RatPac Entertainment with Hollywood director Brett Ratner.
