A funny and smart movie about aging, While We're Young arrives for audiences everywhere on DVD and Blu-ray. Check out this behind-the-scenes clip as stars Ben Stiller, Adam Driver, and filmmaker Noah Baumbach discuss how would two generators of new York couples would interact with each other.
As we previously mentioned, the coming-of-age drama takes on middle-age angst and uncertainty, with a comedic twist that only filmmaker Noah Baumbach could achieve. With Stiller, Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried, and Adam Driver sharing the same scene together, this definitely looks like a great comedy from a great collaborative team.
According to the plot synopsis, middle-aged filmmaker Josh Srebnick (Stiller) and his wife, Cornelia (Watts), are happily married, but are actually stuck in a rut. When free-spirited couple Jamie (Driver) and Darby (Seyfried) suddenly enter their lives, it actually feels like a breath of fresh air. For Josh though, he pines for a youth he wishes he had before. Soon, Josh and Cornelia are ditching friends their own age to hang out with these hipsters. But can their friendship endure despite their 20-year age gap, that remains to be seen between them.
In an interview with Telegraph, the Squid and the Whale director describes how the themes feel personal to him, ""I guess because I'm the age of Ben's characters in Greenberg and While We're Young, people tend to think I'm revealing myself," he says. "But I'm much more like Adam [Driver]'s character, Jamie - in terms of my ambition and my productivity."
In the behind-the-scenes footage, the cast discusses the differences between the two generations in the film and how technology plays a pivotal role.
While We're Young arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray on June 30, just in time for the relaxing July 4th weekend.
