We all want the love, don't we, folks? In fact, some go so far as to say that it's all you need. But sadly, not all of us are getting the love we actually need and desire. So, what do we do? Well, perhaps it starts with an inward look at ourselves. Kindness, self-worth – these are things that are not only important to us all but also imperative in seeing that the world appear to be a place of beauty rather than that of a dismal, stained entity.
So, again we ask, what do we do? How can we start to incorporate more love into our lives?
Let's take a look...
Per a report from The Huffington Post, there are certain things we can practice that will (hopefully) allow love to seep its infectious scent into our noses and pour itself into our veins like a fine serum.
Open Your Heart
Now, yes... this sounds cheesy. But let's be real, if you open your heart up a bit then perhaps you'll be more open to the truth behind the saying. HuffPost reports that there's even a method you can use to open up that heart called the Inner Ease Technique.
Via HuffPost:
- "Place your hand on your heart area and imagine you are breathing it in and out through your heart.
- Breathe slowly and gently until your breathing feels smooth and balanced, not forced.
- With each breath draw in a feeling of inner-ease, balance and self-love into your heart."
Practice
As the old adage goes, "practice makes perfect." Which is exactly why if you want to start having more love come into your life, you need to start giving it. So start practicing doling out love in every situation you find yourself in. You might be surprised with what you get back.
Above Everything Else, Love Yourself First
If you don't feel any love for yourself then how can you expect to get any back? HuffPost is urging us to go on a date with ourselves at least once a week doing something we love to do. Whether it be something as simple as grabbing a cup of coffee or heading to a movie, treat yourself to a date. And then, love yourself.
