Someone has decided to make a movie about President Barack Obama and FLOTUS Michelle Obama watching a movie. At least that's what the description of the new film Southside With You sounds like. The Hollywood Reporter recently released pictures of the movie about a younger Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson on their very first date to see Do The Right Thing.
The movie will take place in the summer of 1989 when the two took a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, went to the movies and shared their first kiss outside of an ice cream parlor. The film was inspired by a conversation the Obama's recorded in a video message back in 2012. In the video, the FLOTUS spoke about the President's movie selection.

She said it was "directed by a guy that not that many people had heard of." Which, of course we all now know is famed director Spike Lee.
"He was trying to show me his sophisticated side by selecting an independent filmmaker, and it ended up being a pretty good movie – really great!"
In the video message, the President went on to say that he thanked Mr. Lee for helping him impress his future wife.
Southside With You was written and directed by Richard Tanne. Tika Sumpter is the most well known actress in the film as she has had roles in movies such as Ride Along, Get On Up, The Haves And Have Nots and Gossip Girl. Sawyer has been in Hyde Park On Hudson, Zero Dark Thirty, Austenland and Jack Ryan. He is also set to be in Oliver Stone's upcoming film Snowden.
Will you be seeing Southside With You when it comes out?
