Since leaving the WWE, the multi-time champion and Hall of Famer Edge has had a successful television career on the show based on Stephen King's novel, Haven. Now the king of the ladder matches has landed another prominent role and that is with the CW's Flash. According to the CW, Edge will play the villain Atom-Smasher. He'll be making his first appearance this season.
This is how the CW described Edge's Atom-Smasher role in Flash:
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him."
Of course there's a chance Edge's stint as a super powered villain will only last so long. In the comic books, Atom-Smasher is a good guy. Converting from heel to face is nothing new to Edge, so he'll be able to transition perfectly. Throughout his WWE career, Edge went from monster heel to baby face several times. After successful title runs with Lita and Vickie Guerrero by his side, he finally became a fan favorite. As a matter of fact, Edge ended his career in the good graces of the WWE Universe and one of the more depressing moments in recent wrestling history was his retirement announcement.
Edge made his first television appearance on the second season of Haven and has been a part of the show ever since. He plays Dwight Hendrickson, a member of the Haven Police Department and formerly a soldier who fought in Afghanistan back in late 2001.
Do you think Edge will play a prominent part in the CW's Flash?
