Magic Mike XXL star Channing Tatum had fans very excited when he showed up at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con panel for Fox's upcoming Marvel Comics movies with a haircut to match his next role as the character Gambit in a solo project. He was even greeting comic book legend Stan Lee while wearing a Gambit t-shirt (pictured above), but did we get our hopes up too soon? According to new rumors, the previously confirmed project has hit some kind of agreement dispute with the actor, which means filming could be affected and the whole project could be cancelled! It looks like we might not be able to see Tatum's stripper moves come into play in this action film is the speculation is true. Read more on this concerning news below.

In case you forgot, Tatum has been on-board and gung-ho about this project since 2013, so we're a bit surprised to learn that he could be dropping out of the project after just hyping it up at Comic-Con earlier this month. For fans, it's been great to follow the news and learn just how into the character the Hollywood superstar is, which definitely makes it one of the most anticipated films of 2016. So what went wrong?

Plans of filming the movie were set for this Fall in New Orleans, but The Wrap is reporting that the actor's deal is "falling apart," with no real details on what that means. Apparently, the project could move forward without Tatum as the star, though perhaps in a producing role, but that would definitely be disappointing for fans and we assume the actor, too (via Slash Film / Gamma Squad).
